Hyperlink: Cannot Download The Information You Requested
Hi,I am getting this mistake recently when adding a hyperlink to a cell in Excel. I add together the link into the jail cell and click on the link and get the mistake:
''Unable to open up [link]. Cannot download the information you requested.''
I paste the link into a browser and it works fine. I basically want to add a link to my worksheet and when I click on the link it opens it in the browser.
I am using Excel 2000.
Thanks.

Re: Hyperlink: Cannot Download The Information You Requested
how-do-you-do! after struggling with this EXACT symptom of opening links in MS Office, thought i would share HOW Information technology WAS Stock-still.while searching i institute very few fixes for this and the few that i found were ineffective, including the i another user posted above that y'all already confirmed equally unsuccessful. similar you describe, the problem URL we had works fine when pasted into a browser. too, this was not express to EXCEL, but extended to Give-and-take and Outlook and peradventure to the unabridged Part suite (but this was not tested)
Here IS A WORKING Prepare from Microsoft: http://back up.microsoft.com/kb/218153
the mistake described is not the exact same message (like...) just the existent key is that this page was besides linked from another MS KB that expanded on the reasons the "Set up Information technology" was issued (here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899927/en-u.s.a., section "Hyperlinks from Office to Internet Explorer or to some other Web browser") and confirms that the phone call to open the URL was not making it to the browser at all.
hopefully if you are still having this upshot or it crops up in the future, yous will have the chance to utilise this gear up and not struggle with MS's lack of meaningful error messages :P thank yous.
